~~~About My Character~~~
What is your character's history? Are they on the side of the Friends, the High Council, neutral, or are they unaware of the conflict? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
Eugene Fitzherbert was born the son of a poor woman and a Lord. Unfortunately for him, his mother died in childbirth and his father did not want to claim him, as he was conceived out of wedlock, and no high-ranking Lord wants to admit to having an illegitimate son. So, he was raised in an orphanage until he was eight years old, when he ran away from home. Throughout his childhood, Eugene all but worshiped the hero of his favorite book, Flynnigan Rider. Once he was away from the orphanage, Eugene began going by the name of Flynn Rider.
Now away from the influence of his mother figure, Mrs. Miller the owner of the orphanage where he grew up, Flynn turned to crime to earn himself enough money to buy an island. That way he would go away where no one would ever judge him for who his parents were again. It wasn't an easy life, but he survived well enough. He even met another young orphan, a girl named Meira, who became his only friend and companion. They stuck together for nearly seven years, when they ran into trouble.
This trouble came in the form of a pair of redheaded brothers who went by the name of Stabbington. Flynn hadn't expected to run into trouble on an easy job of just getting in and stealing a few jewels. Then again, he also hadn't expected the Stabbington brothers to make an appearance. He was helpless as he watched Meira be killed, her throat slit by the Stabbingtons because she and Flynn had been stupid enough to try and do a job in the same town as the two brothers. For four years, he tried to find the Stabbingtons again to make them pay for what they did to Meira. When he did finally find them again, it took him some time to convince them to become his new partners in crime. Once he had done that, it was an easy enough matter to try and get the Stabbingtons arrested without getting caught himself. At least, so he had thought. For another four years, he kept trying to get rid of the brothers, until they tried to steal the crown of Corona's Lost Princess.
The crown of the Lost Princess was the biggest job that any thief could think to pull. After all, it was surrounded by guards of all sorts, and then there was the huge city to get out of. Not an easy thing to do, but Flynn was confident they could do it. And they did…until they got into the forest. There, with some help from his natural cunning, Flynn managed to escape the brothers with the crown, until he found a tall tower, hidden away in a secret valley. He was confused by this, but went in to hide. Then it hit him. With a frying pan.
When he woke up, Flynn found himself the victim of a young girl with seventy feet of golden hair. She all but made him take her to see the floating lanterns the king and queen sent into the air each year for their lost daughter, and Flynn had no choice if he wanted the crown back. He agreed, and to his surprise, along the way to the city, Flynn found himself becoming fascinated by this pint-sized blonde girl. When they reached the city, he realized how lovely Rapunzel really was, and found himself falling in love with her. This surprised him, of course, and when he saw the Stabbington brothers on the shore, he decided to be noble—a new thing for him—and give them the crown so Rapunzel would be safe. That backfired like you would not believe, and when Flynn woke up, he was being arrested.
He couldn't believe it…Rapunzel was in trouble. She had to be. But then he was being taken to his execution. Fearing for Rapunzel's life as well as his own, Flynn spotted the brothers and forced them to tell him how they had found out about Rapunzel. When they told him they found out from an old lady, Flynn knew he had to save Rapunzel from her evil mother. With the help of the Snuggly Duckling thugs and Maximus the horse, Flynn escaped and made his way to Rapunzel's tower. Fearing that the worst had happened, he began climbing up the tower until her hair came down to meet him. Relieved, he jumped into the tower, talking about how he had thought he'd never see Rapunzel again. Then he was being stabbed by Gothel.
All Flynn knew was that he had to keep Rapunzel safe. All Gothel wanted her for was her hair…if he did something to fix that, then at least Rapunzel could escape, even if he couldn't. When Rapunzel tried to heal him, Flynn cut off her hair, fully expecting to die. What he didn't expect was to be healed by her tear. Who knew? Now, Eugene is Rapunzel's husband-to-be, and living with her at the castle with her parents.
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses? What are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad?
Eugene is a kind person, though he tried to hide this for years by acting like the charming, yet somewhat stuck-up and selfish, Flynn Rider. Now that he is no longer Flynn Rider, Eugene is free to be the person he once was, caring and brave, and madly in love with Rapunzel. He's still a little awkward about the whole being-in-love thing, as he's never been through it before, but he's more than willing to see how things turn out. Flynn Rider still exists in aspects of his personality, like his tendency to joke and make sarcastic comments rather than be serious, or in the way he tries his best to be charming towards his future in-laws. He still has a love-hate relationship with Pascal and Max the horse, but as Eugene they seem to trust him a lot more than they trusted him as Flynn, and Eugene's satisfied with that much.
If your character is listed on
one of these pages, please copy their entry here. Will you be playing by this description, or are you going to take a different spin on things, and how so?
"Mother Gothel's defeat resulted in four new faces to train. Rapunzel, with all the qualities of a Princess of Heart, was gleefully accepted into their ranks, and is currently teaching her colleagues some of the many skills she developed during her long isolation in order to make the Princesses more effective. Eugene, still going by Flynn except among his family, is a good man who specilizies in stealth missions, often aided by Maximus. Finally, Pascal's abilities make him a good stealth agent for the Rescue Aid Society."
I am going with a slightly different twist in that Flynn and co. don't know about the Friends or High Council yet, but will soon be recruited.
~~~Sample~~~
Give us a small sample of how you will play your character. Give us at least three paragraphs.
(From my fanfic Flower Glow on fanfiction.net)
Dying was a rather interesting feeling, Flynn thought to himself. It was…rather warm. He had always thought that death would be cold and painful. Maybe it helped that he was dying in the arms of Rapunzel. Feeling her arms cradling him and her hand pressed against his…it seemed to make death seem just a little easier. He'd made sure that Gothel would never be able to use Rapunzel again. That had to count for something.
While Flynn had never really believed in any sort of heaven, but if heaven meant that he could be with Rapunzel after death, then he was willing to believe in it. God couldn't be so cruel that he wouldn't let Flynn and Rapunzel be together, after all they'd done together.
What felt strange to Flynn right now was that…he didn't feel like he was getting closer to dying. If anything, it felt more like he was getting better. But that was a stupid thought. He was dying, after all. The knife into his gut had been very real, and so had the pain. Maybe he was getting a little delirious in his last moments. Though he could swear that instead of the cold glass he had used to cut Rapunzel's hair, he felt something soft and warm in his hand. Weird.
~~~Bonding~~~
Why this character? What draws you to them? What makes you want to play them?
Well...I have always had a thing for the lovable rogue character, as I write Rodney Skinner Gentleman Thief for an LXG RP site, and I've already had practice with Flynn. I just love him as one of the most awesome Disney heroes yet. In my mind.
Who else do you play here?
