~~~About My Character~~~
What is your character's history? Are they on the side of the Friends, the High Council, neutral, or are they unaware of the conflict? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
Before the fateful accident that created the Liquidator, Bud Flood was a highly successful businessman. His company, the Sparkling Crystal Pure Flood Bottling Company, led the bottled water market in the state of Calisota. However, Flood wanted something more–he wanted to be the only game in town; to that end, he fouled his competitors' water until the day that Darkwing Duck caught him souring the water of his last remaining rival, Koo Koo Fizzy Water, Inc.. When Darkwing confronted him, Flood stumbled over the railing above Koo Koo Fizzy Water's contaminated water and fell in, seemingly dissolving in it.
However, this was not the case; rather Bud Flood was reborn as...THE LIQUIDATOR! Though his initial plan to turn all of St. Canard's water hard failed thanks to an encounter with some concrete, The Liquidator escaped and would resurface with the Fearsome Five, including a temporarily successful takeover of St. Canard. Since then, he has drifted somewhat, taking odd jobs here and there from the underworld, but nothing like the glory days. Things could be turning around, though–ever since The Liquidator reached an...understanding with Magica DeSpell, the Friends' main woman in Toonville...
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses? What are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad?
True to his former profession, The Liquidator gets along to go along. He prefers working in groups to operating solo and works hard to make sure any group he joins remains stable, something he became quite good at during his escapades with the Fearsome Five. However, despite his love of stability, he puts himself first and last and will work for whoever can make him a better offer than what he has.
The Liquidator's aquatic powers are quite formidable. He has complete control over any liquid he can make contact with. However, electricity breaks him up, forcing him to take a few seconds to recoagulate. Also, freezing temperatures slow him down and he can be stopped cold by concrete or pudding mix.
If your character is listed on one of these pages, please copy their entry here. Will you be playing by this description, or are you going to take a different spin on things, and how so?
There is no mention of the Liquidator on the original Friends And The High Council WMG as far as I could find. I basically plan to play him as a Psycho For Hire–someone who works for the bad guys because it gives him more opportunities to abuse his powers. However, he is also a supreme mercenary and will betray his supposed allies if something better comes down the pike...
~~~Sample~~~
Give us a small sample of how you will play your character. Give us at least three paragraphs.
The Liquidator looked around Magica DeSpell's abode. The skulls on the wall did not indicate somebody going for the subtle look, but The Liquidator kept focused on preparing his sales pitch. After a few minutes, a door near him opened and a middle-aged duckbill woman dressed in black beckoned him in. "Liquidator, I presume?" she said in a thick Eastern European accent.
"The one, the only...LIQUIDATOR brand agent!" Liquidator declared proudly, hoping that his show of bravado would be enough to bowl his interviewer over.
"And why would this be?" the woman replied in a nearly-mechanical manner.
"Are certain other minions making you tense? Can you simply not relax after a long, hard day of dimension-hopping and Darkwing-brainwashing? Then you'll love the new LIQUIDATOR brand agent! Using cutting-edge water science, THE LIQUIDATOR can endure almost any attack, turn pesky soft water into durable and versatile hard water, control the tides and much, much more! L-I-Q-U-I-D spells relief!" The Liquidator said, adding quickly and in a lower tone of voice, "Results may vary. Do not mix with cement or pudding mix. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Offer void in Nebraska and Quebec."
"Interesting..." the woman intoned. "And what would you ask of us in return?"
"Similar agents might charge 50 million...80 million...even 100 million damned souls a month for what THE LIQUIDATOR has to offer, but, for a limited time, we're offering THE LIQUIDATOR for the low, low price of $1 billion/year! That's less than $3.5 million dollars per day! Call now at 1-800-LIQUIDS! That's 1-800-547-8437! Operators are standing by!" The Liquidator continued.
The woman considered Liquidator's pitch for a moment, then smiled. "I believe we can reach an understanding. Check under your pillow when you return home–I think the...Tooth Fairy may have left you something."
"Triumph now with THE LIQUIDATOR!" said The Liquidator, his watery body quivering with excitement.
~~~Bonding~~~
Why this character? What draws you to them? What makes you want to play them?
After looking back at Darkwing Duck, I found the Liquidator to be the most consistently funny villain in the series by a long shot. I think that with his powers and skill set, I would act quite similarly to how he does. Also, I wanted to play a more in-the-trenches type of villain at first, rather than someone who could alter the conflict with a word.
Who else do you play here?
I do not currently play any other characters here.
